Ocean Freight Industry EIPP Standards Advisory Board
The Ocean Freight Industry EIPP Standards Advisory Board, established by INTTRA, includes executives representing the leading ocean carriers and global freight forwarders. The mission is to lead the ocean freight industry, as a community, towards greater efficiency in Electronic Invoice Presentment and Payment through standardization and automation.
The Ocean Freight Industry EIPP Standards Advisory Board is a forum for discussing and designing collaborative processes for carriers, freight forwarders and others in the ocean freight industry. This initiative will advise on the standards that will shape electronic invoicing for the ocean freight industry and may also represent the industry in the relevant standards development organizations. The group is committed to establishing a set of guidelines for best practices based on international standards that will ensure the adoption and long term sustainability of electronic invoicing for our industry.
One of the first initiatives of the EIPP Standards Advisory Board will be to prioritize and address leading causes of “friction” within the EIPP process such as the inefficiencies of the dispute management process. By establishing standards, the EIPP Standards Advisory Board will work towards the greater goal of establishing one common standard that would allow carriers, forwarders and shippers to receive and pay invoices quickly, identify billing errors automatically and more quickly resolve disputes about payments.
