January 14, 2003
INTTRA-LINK extends ocean transportation capabilities to more than 10,000 axsFreight users worldwide
Copenhagen, Denmark - January 14, 2003 - INTTRA (www.inttra.com), the leading provider of business-to-business ocean freight transportation services, today announced the successful integration of its INTTRA-LINK solution with the axsFreight application from Transaxiom (www.transaxiom.com). The joint offering adds capabilities such as multiple ocean carrier booking, shipping instructions, and the integration of global track and trace for INTTRA carrier shipments directly into the Transaxiom multi-modal transportation software solution.
Frank Holmstrup, Chief Executive Officer of Transaxiom, said, "INTTRA is clearly the market leader now and, with its industry-wide backing of the world's leading carriers, in our opinion INTTRA will strengthen its position in the global ocean carrier market and extend its business to cover other valuable processes within the logistics chain. In coupling our axsFreight solution with INTTRA-LINK, we have extended a single point of entry for global supply chain management to our customer base of approximately 10,000 forwarders and consignees worldwide."
Transaxiom is a worldwide provider of freight forwarding and logistics IT solutions for the transportation industry. In addition to its multi-modal transportation operational systems, the company has developed logistics solutions such as purchase order management, supply chain management, track and trace systems, management information, and customer relationship management. The axsFreight application can be served on multiple platforms, including AS/400, UNIX, and NT, but can also be served as an ASP solution or in a LAN or WAN environment. Presently, Transaxiom has nearly 325 installations in 79 countries worldwide.
Henrik Dam Larsen, General Manager Europe for INTTRA, added, "In response to the expressed needs of Transaxiom customers, we have completed the integration of our two systems. Today, axsFreight users can benefit from 'behind the scenes' connectivity to INTTRA's transportation network of leading ocean carriers. I anticipate that joint INTTRA/Transaxiom customers will benefit from streamlining booking and shipping instructions across multiple carriers as well as providing direct visibility to ocean going cargo to trading partners around the globe."
INTTRA offers a standardized ocean logistics execution platform to shippers, consignees, and logistics providers around the world and is sponsored by many of the world's leading ocean carriers. The INTTRA network provides connected access to almost 50 percent of all global ocean containerized shipments through connections to leading software or via INTTRA-ACT and INTTRA-LINK.
