Leading European service provider turns to premier Web portal for single point of connectivity
Copenhagen, Denmark - October 16, 2002 - INTTRA (www.inttra.com), the leading provider of business-to-business ocean freight transportation services, today announced the completion of its integration with Ocean World Lines, (www.oceanworldlines.com), one of the world's largest full container load (FCL) non-vessel operating common carriers (NVOCC). The integration with INTTRA is bringing productivity efficiencies, streamlined processes, and standardized data quality to Ocean World Lines' (OWL) European and North Atlantic ocean going trade transportation services. OWL plans a subsequent expansion of INTTRA's services into Central and South America, the Far East, and other trade lanes.
By connecting to INTTRA, OWL has selected the leading industry ocean portal to manage single-point connectivity to the entire network of INTTRA ocean carriers, which collectively covers almost 50 percent of all container traffic. OWL is the fifth largest shipper on the North Atlantic trade lane, shipping approximately 30,000 TEU annually west-bound and 70,000 TEU overall annually.
Cord Brügge, Managing Director of OWL Europe, said, "We turned to INTTRA to gain productivity efficiencies. Through INTTRA-LINK, the bookings at our end are automatically transmitted to the carrier, resulting in fewer phone calls and fewer mistakes. INTTRA provides greater visibility for our entire organization and hence our customers."
Henrik Dam Larsen, General Manager of INTTRA Europe, said, "We are pleased that OWL has linked its entire European ocean transportation business to the INTTRA portal, and that its North Atlantic export traffic is also now connected via INTTRA-LINK. By streamlining its business through INTTRA-LINK, OWL will further enhance the level of service it offers to its customers."
INTTRA offers a standardized ocean logistics execution platform to shippers, consignees, and logistics providers around the world and is sponsored by many of the world's leading ocean carriers. The INTTRA network provides connected access to almost 50 percent of all global ocean containerized shipments through connections to leading software or via INTTRA-ACT and INTTRA-LINK. INTTRA is utilized globally and has managed more than 850,000 bookings and 4.5 million container events since its inception.
