Elite International Transportation Joins INTTRA's Expanding Global Logistics Network
April 16, 2002
Global logistics provider utilizes INTTRA's full complement of web-based and ERP-connected ocean transportation management solutions
Parsippany, New Jersey and Houston, Texas - April 16, 2002 - INTTRA (www.inttra.com), the leading provider of business-to-business (B2B) ocean freight services, today announced that Elite International Transportation Inc. (www.eliteint.com) has joined its rapidly expanding global logistics network. Elite has deployed INTTRA-ACT, a B2B Web-hosted portal solution that standardizes and supports door-to-door ocean transport services for customers that book with one or more carriers. Elite is also using INTTRA-LINK, the transportation network solution designed to provide a pipeline of shipping and logistics information to larger companies by interfacing directly through their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or supply chain systems. The company plans to utilize INTTRA's solutions to work in collaboration with its full range of business practices including freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) services. Of the more than 600 global freight forwarders registered with INTTRA, Elite is the first U.S.-based freight forwarder to use the INTTRA-LINK solution.
Michael Loup, Vice President Business Development of Elite said, "INTTRA's proposition of a single connection to many carriers allows us to pass transactions quickly, efficiently, and accurately from our shippers' systems through our system and on to the carriers. This creates a tremendous long-term value for our customers. As for Elite, we benefit simply by the fact that the standardized, uniform direct access to all in-transit cargo results in the elimination of customized processes for each carrier. In the past, we established separate connections with a number of carriers, but the INTTRA logistics network is enabling us to interact directly with multiple carriers through one simple, Internet-based connection. The solution is both secure and scaleable, and is essentially transparent to the end users."
Jane Biddle, Chief Commercial Officer of INTTRA said, "We are extremely pleased to be working with Elite, a world-class logistics provider. The Elite implementation will showcase the scalability and flexibility of both the INTTRA-ACT and INTTRA-LINK products. Elite's continued focus on extending traditional freight forwarding services has rightfully earned them recognition as a premier global logistics provider. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship."
Michael Loup added, "While the majority of our shippers are already using carriers that are members of INTTRA's global logistics network, we believe this is the portal that will continue to add member carriers. In addition, the INTTRA solution enables us to leverage existing investments because it does not require the purchase and implementation of additional software."
INTTRA provides its portal connectivity to shippers and logistics providers, and is the leading portal for containerized ocean freight services. INTTRA has more than 1,300 registered companies around the globe, and has managed more than 132,000 bookings and 1.5 million container events since its inception. Presently, INTTRA is backed by 15 carriers and logistics providers that collectively serve more than 46 percent of the ocean-going transportation market.
