INTTRA Promotes E-Commerce in Eastern Europe and Russia

June 05, 2006

St. Petersburg, Russia, June 5 - INTTRA has increased its presence in Eastern Europe and Russia through its recently announced link with the forwarding agency Soyuzkhimtrans International Ltd (SKT Int.).

INTTRA is the world’s largest e-commerce platform for ocean freight with 22 of the world’s largest ocean carriers in its network, representing over 61 percent of the ocean freight capacity among the world’s top carriers.

With the addition of SKT Int. to the INTTRA global customer network, INTTRA is now connected to one of the top freight forwarders in Russia.  “SKT Int. is a key player for the continued growth of e-commerce throughout the region.  They are a leading freight forwarder for the chemical industry as well as having an increasing role for wood, metals and other products,” said Annette Molin, regional sales director for INTTRA’s European region.

“Early in 2006, SKT Int. decided to connect to INTTRA and utilize its INTTRA-Link, EDI-based solution for seamless integration of its backend system to INTTRA’s platform,” said Igor Kulish, IT Manager at SKT Int.  Mr. Kulish said the benefits of having a “true EDI, end-to-end supply chain information solution connected to a unique platform that integrates SKT Int. with its numerous shipping lines had 100 percent support of both SKT Int.’s commercial and management staff.”

Added Alexander Lerner, SKT Int. Commercial Director, “SKT Int. is using INTTRA for shipping instructions and container status events, and will soon add bookings as well.  The one-hub solution provided by INTTRA greatly reduces the time required for communicating with various shipping lines, and also reduces parallel data entry.  The result is an improved and accurate process.”

And Tatyana Sushkova, SKT Int. General Director, says INTTRA-Link provides an “exciting marketing opportunity for this region in general, and Russia in particular.  INTTRA’s impressive growth to date is proof of the strength of the overall business concept.”

“Logistics providers such as SKT Int. truly benefit from INTTRA’s standardized solutions.  In addition to the improvements in data accuracy and rapid information exchange, INTTRA also offers local customer support to meet a customer’s specific market needs for our global solution,” said Army Pedersen, INTTRA's Managing Director for the European region.

“To develop an effective supply chain is not only about integrating systems or having the right technology to automate transactions; it is also about having the business knowledge and partner relationships.  INTTRA has experience and expertise in all these areas,” he added.
