UK Shippers and Forwarders Can Now Connect to INTTRA for Increased Efficiency

July 17, 2006

Liverpool, The United Kingdom, July 17, 2006 – Thanks to the efforts of M.A. Logistics and LSI-Sigma, shippers and freight forwarders can now connect to INTTRA and enjoy increased efficiency for their ocean shipments.

INTTRA is the world’s largest e-commerce ocean platform with 22 core ocean carrier customers that represent 61 percent of the global ocean container capacity.  INTTRA’s multi-carrier platform handles over 15,000 active customer connections in more than 75 countries daily.

M.A. Logistics, a medium-sized global logistics operation based in Liverpool, has teamed with LSI-Sigma -- a software house based in Southampton, the UK -- to create a replicable system for connecting even the smallest freight forwarder or shipper to INTTRA, and in doing so reports increased efficiency and reduced shipping data errors for its own customers.

According to Peter Holdsworth, a M.A. Logistics Director, M.A. Logistics was seeking to increase efficiency and shipping data quality by producing identical documentation systems to accommodate all customer requirements.  Once LSI-Sigma had this system operational, he said M.A. Logistics asked LSI-Sigma to adapt the system to accommodate INTTRA so they could provide the benefit of INTTRA’s suite of products to their own customer base.  “Now there is a documentation system available in the UK with the ability to connect with INTTRA at a cost that the smallest of exporters or forwarders can afford,” he said.

“With great support both from the INTTRA team and our customer, M.A. Logistics, we have been able to achieve our goal and enhance our product line accordingly.  Currently, we are unaware of any other software product within our sector that has this capability,” said Ian Brown, LSI-Sigma Director.

Holdsworth adds that M.A. Logistics is enjoying time savings by “not having to check bills of lading, ask for amendments or wait for them to be posted to our office.  INTTRA is a huge sales tool for our company.  Who else can offer such a speedy and efficient documentation service in the UK?  At this moment very few.”

“Although M.A. Logistics Ltd is a small-to-medium-sized logistics company, we have always tried to provide the most efficient and reliable service to our customer. We realize that e-commerce is the future of this industry and to this end we have always invested in the latest of technology,” he added.

Added Michael Schutt Nielsen, INTTRA’s Senior Vice President, Global Commercial Sales, “INTTRA is close to its customers. This is the only portal offering local e-business expertise around the world. Having our sales and EDI integration support expertise in local markets helps customers make a faster and easier transition to e-business; a transition that is aligned with local practice.”
