August 07, 2006
Gothenburg, Sweden, August 7, 2006 - INTTRA has increased its coverage in Scandinavia through its recently announced alliance with the Björk Eklund Group (BEG).
INTTRA is the world’s largest e-commerce platform for ocean freight with 22 of the world’s largest ocean carriers in its network, representing over 61 percent of the ocean freight capacity among the world’s top carriers.
With the addition of BEG to the INTTRA network, INTTRA is now connected to one of the best-known and respected transportation companies in the Scandinavian market, says Army Pederson, Managing Director for INTTRA’s Europe, Mediterranean and North Africa region. With 190 employees, BEG offers complete coverage of Sweden and has extended its business into Norway and Denmark. BEG has offices in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Spain and Lithuania.
Besides expanding INTTRA’s presence in Scandinavia, Pederson says BEG is, “an important addition to INTTRA’s existing network. They will have a leading role in the continued expansion of our offerings and service, thus adding even more benefit to our existing and potential customer base,” he said.
“As part of our ongoing quality policy, we are committed to offering the most modern, advanced and efficient e-commerce services. We have chosen to partner with INTTRA so we can provide high-quality e-business service for our customers to manage their ocean-cargo transactions,” said Gunnar Ström, Björk Eklund Group CEO. BEG will offer customers “INTTRA’s complete range of services through its e-commerce platform, including booking requests and confirmations, shipping instructions, cargo tracking and sailing schedules.”
Ström also pointed out that numerous customers such as Stora Enso, a global leader in integrated paper, packaging and forest products, and logistics providers such as TNT Freight Management, “have warmly welcomed the initiative. Not only does our joining INTTRA’s e-commerce platform meet their specific market needs, but they believe it will result in a higher degree of efficiency and provide additional carrier coverage through INTTRA’s extensive network,” he said.
The partnership with BEG, “will increase our market share, strengthen the overall business concept, and provide INTTRA a leading role in the Scandinavian market,” said Pederson.
