October 03, 2006

INTRIS Leads Way in Belgium

Antwerp, Belgium, October 2, 2006 – INTTRA, the world’s largest e-commerce platform for the ocean industry, is experiencing increased demand from software providers worldwide to connect to INTTRA on behalf of their customers.

INTRIS a leading specialist software provider for the transport and logistics sector based in Antwerp, Belgium, developed an interface for their TRIS©Forwarding software application to help their forwarding customers take advantage of INTTRA-Link, an EDI-based service.

The collaboration between INTTRA and INTRIS reflects INTTRA’s support of software providers around the world to provide standardized multi-carrier connectivity.  INTTRA has now established similar connections around the world with more than 50 software developers and local portals, including IES in the United States, Ozdocs in Australia, Topsoft in Taiwan and Transaxiom in Denmark, all of which are experiencing growing customer demand to link to INTTRA to streamline their ocean shipping processes.

INTRIS is one of the largest European-based software service providers in the transport and logistics market with 150 customers and 4,500 users.  Company officials report that by connecting to INTTRA through TRIS©Forwarding, customers are saving money and time by consolidating multiple, high-speed carrier connections into a single connection with INTTRA.

INTRIS chose to develop a connection to the INTTRA-Link service to specifically assist customers with streamlining their Bill of Lading (B/L) documentation process.  Because of its collaboration with INTTRA, INTRIS can help customers send all B/L instructions at a push of a button to all ocean carriers connected to INTTRA.

“We convert Bill of Lading instructions and send them directly according to INTTRA’s specifications and the relevant EDI protocol.  Within the TRIS©Forwarding package, the forwarder only has to enter the information once, so keeping control over the data and making savings in communication and courier costs,” explained Patrick Van de Looverbosch, CEO of INTRIS.

“TRIS©Forwarding package is already installed and running successfully with a major logistics provider in Belgium saving time and reducing errors,” said Jocelyn Hansen, INTTRA’s Manager of Commerce Sales for the European Region.

Army Pedersen, INTTRA’s Managing Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa said, “Our job is to support the industry and provide a preferred level of multi-carrier e-commerce and global support for our customers.  Software providers are looking to INTTRA for open access to the highest quality data at the lowest cost.  With INTTRA, it’s no longer necessary to have multiple direct connections to carriers.”
