NiceShipping Launches Web Suite to Connect Customers to INTTRA

Taiwan, China, June 18, 2007 - NiceShipping, a subsidiary of Taiwan-based CMC Magnetics with 23 shipping partners world-wide, has announced a recent roll-out of its new 3PLWebSuite®, which is designed to connect its customers to INTTRA.
INTTRA is the largest e-commerce platform for the ocean industry representing almost 70 percent of the ocean freight capacity among the world’s top ocean carriers.  INTTRA initiates more than 200,000 container orders a week and originates over $12 billion worth of ocean freight.

The new Web suite, the first of its kind in Taiwan, was introduced at a joint seminar between NiceShipping and INTTRA on April 25.  The suite supports a logistics information services system designed to facilitate global e-commerce connections for the ocean industry, simplify processes and streamline operations for all parties to a shipment.  It was developed with strong support from INTTRA and allows NiceShipping customers and alliance partners to exchange billing documents, bookings, shipping instructions and cargo tracking between Taiwan and mainland China.

“It’s anticipated that through this quick and convenient network that overseas subsidiaries of Taiwan-based 3PLs will be able to handle shipping transmissions through this platform,” said Phyllis Chang, NiceShipping President.  NiceShipping services will be introduced to the entire Asia Pacific region soon, she added.

Carlton Chen, CEO of China International Freight Company, applauded the new Web suite, saying that “constant innovation is necessary for Asia’s logistics industry to maintain its leading position in this era of keen network competition.  Although the CIF group has already gained a leading position in Asia’s logistics industry, it still has to make use of the "e" tools to enhance its competitiveness. Otherwise, it would not be able to evolve itself to a real international logistics group. We are fortunate that we have made such a move.  The connection among logistics supply chain partners has been greatly improved by significantly increasing operational efficiency and documentary accuracy,” he said.

“The fact that 3PLWebSuite® was built with INTTRA in mind is a significant sign that INTTRA is providing sufficient value for a long-time alliance partner such as NiceShipping.  Such links to INTTRA allow customers on both sides of a transaction to communicate in an easy, streamlined fashion without having to overhaul their own technology systems. This deployment shows that INTTRA is creating an e-based ecosystem for the ocean industry and its many partners to connect,” said Ivy Chih, INTTRA Asia Pacific Sales Manager.
