INTTRA Named as Finalist in 2008 American Business Awards

May 22, 2008

6th Annual Stevie® Awards Will Be Presented on June 12 in New York City

Parsippany, NJ – May 22, 2008 – INTTRA, the leading e-commerce portal for the ocean freight industry, today announces its position as a Finalist in the “Best Management Team” category for the 2008 American Business Awards.  Hailed as “the business world’s own Oscars” (New York Post , April 27, 2005), The American Business Awards are the only national, all-encompassing awards program honoring great performances in business.

More than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories, including Best Overall Company, Best Executive, Best New Product or Service, Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program, and new categories including Best Corporate Environmental Responsibility Program and Best Management Team, for which INTTRA is nominated.

Stevie Award winners will be announced during the annual gala on Thursday, June 12 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.  More than 600 executives from across the U.S.A. are expected to attend.  The ceremonies will be broadcast on radio nationwide by the Business TalkRadio Network and hosted by Liz Claman of FOX Business Network.

Only eight years ago, INTTRA was a consortium of global ocean carriers creating what they thought would simply be a technology outsourcing solution for their customers. Today, that “simple outsourcing solution” is INTTRA: the largest multi-carrier e-Commerce platform for the ocean shipping industry.  To achieve and sustain its growth, INTTRA management established a strong employee development program that would ensure that employees grew alongside INTTRA.

“ABA entries grew more than 30% this year, so being named a Finalist is more of an accomplishment than ever before,” said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of The Stevie
Awards.  “It means that independent business executives have agreed that the nominee is worthy of national recognition.  We congratulate all of the Finalists on their achievement and wish them well in the competition.”

Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs will select Stevie Award winners from among Finalists in final judging during the week of May 19.   Finalists were chosen by business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging in April through early May.

“We are honored to be recognized as a Finalist in the ‘Best Management Team’ category, as our strong growth in the past eight years can be largely attributed to the INTTRA management team and strategy that we have put in place,” said INTTRA CEO, Ken Bloom.  “With a continued focus on employee development in conjunction with corporate growth, our management team spearheaded an innovative training and development program.  This program fosters team building and accountability along with core skills so that employees know that working at INTTRA is not only about achieving goals but creating value that will support the overall company strategy.”
