Parsippany, NJ – June 3, 2008 – INTTRA, the leading e-commerce portal for the ocean freight industry today announces that Ken Bloom, President and CEO, is a finalist for the New Jersey Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® 2008 Awards. According to Ernst & Young LLP, the awards program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate extraordinary success in the areas of innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Bloom was selected as a finalist from over 50 nominations by a panel of independent judges. Award winners will be announced at a special gala event on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at the Marriott Teaneck at Glenpointe, Teaneck, New Jersey.
While serving as Chief Executive Officer for INTTRA, Ken Bloom has overseen a period of tremendous growth and organizational development. During his tenure, INTTRA has grown from its ‘start up' phase to the largest B2B e-commerce portal in the ocean container industry, now processing more than 10% of all global containerized trade. Bloom recruited and developed the senior management team, which in turn has successfully implemented a product development strategy integrated with a global sales force that has in large part powered the engine for INTTRA's revenue growth of more than 100 percent per year since 2001.
"I am truly honored to be recognized among so many other prestigious, successful and respected entrepreneurs in the New Jersey area," said Bloom. "I attribute a great deal of INTTRA's success to the INTTRA management team, members of which have been integral to INTTRA's continued growth and development as well as INTTRA's employees who succeed in enhancing the INTTRA customer experience and value proposition"
