Lloyds List Recognizes INTTRA's Shipping Order Solutions as a Finalist for Asia Innovation Award
October 17, 2008
Parsippany, NJ – October 17, 2008 – INTTRA, the leading e-commerce portal for the ocean freight industry, was named as a finalist for the Lloyd’s List Asia Innovation Award for its efforts in furthering excellence in the Asian maritime arena through the company’s Shipping Order solution. The tenth annual awards were presented in front of crowd of over 500 senior industry professionals during ceremonies at the Marina Mandarin in Singapore.
The Lloyd's List Asia Awards were created to celebrate achievements by companies operating in the Asian shipping community. INTTRA was selected for providing an innovative solution, unique to the region, for streamlining the ocean booking process. This year’s 15 award categories were independently judged by a panel of industry experts and academics from across the region.
INTTRA’s Shipping Order solution was created specifically to meet local booking conditions and regulations. Working with industry leaders, the Shipping Order solution was designed with enhanced functionalities to meet the sophisticated market practices which differ from city to city in China.
By assessing the local business climate and customs, INTTRA determined that the most important factor in the equation is developing a product that is customized to meet the market practice and culture. Since its inception, the Shipping Order solution has grown from processing just over 300 containers a week in early 2006, to over 20,000 containers a week in 2008.
“Receiving recognition from Lloyd’s List is a prestigious honor,” said INTTRA CEO Ken Bloom. “One of the most important components of innovation is the ability to adapt to meet customer needs. INTTRA continually strives to develop flexible solutions for established and emerging markets. Our work in China is clear evidence of INTTRA’s mission to create innovative solutions that drive global industry processes, while simultaneously addressing local needs and practices.”
