INTTRA Opens New Hong Kong Headquarters to Support Growth in the Asia-Pacific Region

CEO Ken Bloom to Conduct Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception in New Hong Kong Office

HONG KONG – September 18th, 2008h – To meet the increasing requirements of the Asia Pacific market, INTTRA, today announces the expansion of its Hong Kong presence to serve customers and carriers in the region via a sales team, carrier account management and global customer service.

INTTRA opened its first international headquarters in Hong Kong in 2001 with a few key customers.  With increasing adoption of e-commerce in the APAC region, INTTRA is now serving over 5,500 customers in the region, which covers a vast area, consisting of the Middle East gulf region, India, China, Australia, New Zealand and other South Asia countries.  The volume growth in the region in 2008 is 50 percent higher than in 2007 and is expected to continue growing.  E-commerce transactions include bookings, accessing sailing schedules, submitting shipping instructions, reviewing bills of lading, creating standardized reports, and tracking shipments around the globe.

As the largest e-commerce platform in the Industry today, INTTRA offers a range of e-commerce products to help shippers and forwarders plan, process and manage their documentation with their carriers.  With more than 260,000 container orders initiated on the platform each week, the INTTRA platform represents more than 10 percent of annual global ocean container trade.

To celebrate the new Hong Kong office, CEO Ken Bloom will lead an opening ceremony followed by an evening welcome reception for INTTRA employees, partners and customers as well as select members of the press.  Alfred Hofmann, Director of Seafreight, Asia Pacific for Kuehne + Nagel will be attending the opening and will speak about Kuehne + Nagel’s world wide use of INTTRA’s e-commerce platform and tools.  He will highlight the benefits to his organization and speak to the future of ocean freight e-commerce, and specifically to some of the emerging trends of their customer base.
